Healthcare Consumer Advocacy Award
The Healthcare Consumer Advocacy Award recognizes an individual or organization that has enhanced the image of the healthcare consumer advocacy contributed to quality patient care through their role in the education of patient advocate professionals.
The Healthcare Consumer Advocacy award is made annually to a SHCA member in acknowledgement of their contributions to the field, whether local, regional, national or international.
Examples of nominees include hospital or healthcare system leaders, governmental leaders, quality experts, consultants, community or national non-profit organizations to name but a few.
The nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an innovative, positive individual leader or organization
- Must demonstrate commitment to healthcare quality
- Must have made a significant impact on healthcare consumers
- Must be an active member of SHCA
- Annual Conference attendance is encouraged

The award recipient will receive a complimentary Annual Conference registration and one night hotel stay at the headquarter hotel. The recipient will also be presented with a recognition award during the SHCA Annual Conference.
