Testimonials from Testimonials from current ILSHCA Chapter Members on the Value of Membership
The networking, professional development and sharing of ideas and Best Practices is the value of membership in ILSHCA. Coming together with other Patient Advocates and knowing that they understand what we face day to day in dealing with complaints, is terrific. SHCA members "get it". The email list serve our chapter utilizes is also a great tool. Someone is always there to answer a question or offer resources.
Networking with other members is invaluable! I appreciate the questions and the timely responses.
I have been a patient representative at my organization for 21 years; the only one they've ever had, so things have been created and changed along the way, in part because of this organization. I have really benefited from the experience of others. With our different demographics and hospital sizes, we often run into different obstacles, different job responsibilities, etc., and this group has always been there for each other, regardless of whether one might be a competitor hospital. We are all here to help the patients. It doesn't matter which hospital they are in.
This is truly an amazing group of advocates and they are very willing to share policies and best practices so we can make IL a great place for ALL patients to receive exceptional healthcare.
I keep returning for the networking opportunities. The more connections members make with each other, the more apt they are to stay involved in our chapter.
To find out different ways that other Liaison's are dealing with the problems that are brought to us to resolve. After dealing with the same types of issues over and over...it is helpful to hear about how other Patient Advocates/hospitals are responding to these issues.
