The grievance has been thoroughly investigated. All of the responses are back from the managers. You have the information sitting there in front of you, and now you have to put it all together in a formal response. Where do you begin?

You have been asked to assist another colleague in the organization in writing a business letter.  What advice do you give them?

This webinar will provide a brief review of the CMS requirements as related to responding to grievances.  Jerri will also share best practices and templates so you not only meet the required standards for information, but also meet your organization’s intent to restore trust and confidence in your facility by:

  • synchronizing the complaint with responses
  • formatting the response in a business letter using technical writing methods
  • using “words that work”
  • minimizing risk to the organization

This webinar is suitable for anyone in your organization who responds to patients in writing.

To aid in the development of fellow advocates and the overall profession, SHCA has identified 9 Domains of Practice as being key skills and knowledge for advanced competency in the role of a patient and consumer advocate.
This webinar touches on several of those domains including: grievance and complaint management, measuring patient satisfaction, customer service/service excellence, and healthcare management.

All you need to do is provide one computer and speaker phone, and invite as many people to listen and watch as you wish.  You will receive one set of materials e-mailed (you may photocopy) and one toll-free telephone connection to the seminar.

A live Q&A session will also be part of the webinar and an evaluation will be conducted upon completion.  Please note no vendor support was solicited for this event*.  If you have questions regarding this event, e-mail: shca@aha.org.
