Call for Faculty - SHCA Domains of Practice

SHCA is seeking faculty with excellent teaching abilities to help us shape the future of patient advocacy through high quality instruction. We have a number of faculty positions open for the Domains of Practice curriculum to meet industry needs.
What are we looking for?
Domains of Practice faculty are seasoned leaders from a variety of settings. They are healthcare professionals who practice in patient advocacy, service excellence, conflict resolution, grievance management, ethics, data management and other domains covered in the courses.
We are looking for faculty who can instruct healthcare professionals at both the essentials and applications levels in the following subject matter areas:
- Patient Rights
- Grievance and Complaint Management
- Measuring Patient Satisfaction
- Interpersonal Communication
- Customer Service/Service Excellence
- Mediation/Conflict Resolution
- Crisis Intervention
- Data Management* (including: Qualitative Research Methods & Data Analysis, Quantitative Research Methods & Data Analysis)
- Healthcare Management
What is the difference between Essentials and Applications faculty?
- Essentials faculty provide foundational learning for those newer to the profession as well as refresher learning for more experienced professionals.
- Applications faculty focus on real life learning highlighting the subject matter of the domains through practical, real world experiences and examples.
What are the faculty expectations?
- As faculty to new or practicing patient advocates you would be responsible for creating, revising, and delivering content designed to meet the learning needs of a variety of patient advocates.
- We encourage speakers to share case studies and additional resources that enhance the learning experience.
- The content is delivered in a webinar format, 60- 90 minutes in length, and include a live Q&A segment.
- Historically, SHCA webinars attract 20-40 registrations per event. A certificate of completion is awarded to each participant.

Faculty Compensation
We appreciate the contributions from our speakers. All accepted SHCA member and non-member presenters will receive a $200 honorarium and complimentary registration ($575 value) for the 2012 SHCA Annual Conference taking place April 17-20 in Austin, Texas.
