Scholarship

The SHCA Board of Directors is pleased to announce a new fundraiser for scholarships to be awarded to a SHCA member interested in becoming Patient Advocate Advanced Practice Certified (PAAPC).

The intent of the PAAPC Scholarship Program is to defray most costs of certification (application/exam) to members whose organizations do not cover expenses of this nature.

The Scholarship
This scholarship program is funded solely through SHCA efforts and fundraisers. The number awarded and scholarship amount will be evaluated annually by SHCA based on the amount of monies generated.

But there’s more! When you purchase a SHCA Star for $2 at conference, half the proceeds are donated into the PAAPC Scholarship fund.

Scholarship Awards will be awarded twice annually. All applicants must meet the Eligibility Criteria listed below in order to qualify. The award will be managed though AHA Executive Offices and not disbursed to the award recipient directly.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible an applicant must be a SHCA member in good standing. A member may receive only one scholarship award, of any type, each year.

The Process
To apply, send SHCA a brief statement of what it would mean to you to win this award (up to two paragraphs), along with a statement from your employer indicating the support available to you for PAAPC (i.e. $0; 50% toward expenses; $75 toward exam, but $0 toward application fee; etc). It’s that simple!
